Yarn Installation

Inspiration for yarn installation by J. Dawes

Camp of Swagg Mural

Students came up with a mural idea using a stripe pattern and the words "Camp of Swagg."

That means our camp is COOL.

Volcano Construction

Students in the second group decided to create a volcano.

We began construction using boxes for a base.

Covered it with brown paper.

They used red celaphane for lava and then painted lava on the brown paper.

The lava drips down the doorway.  Watch your head!

Tree Mural

Tree and Pattern Mural

Students drew ideas and then decided to combine them all for this collaborative mural.

Students create leaves for the tree.

Dale Chihuly Inspired Chandeliers

Chihuly Glass Chandelier

Instead of colored glass students use permanent markers on recycled water bottles and clear paper.

They cut the plastic into strips and punch holes in each shape.

The pieces are then strung on a piece of yarn and an adult hits the plastic
with a heat gun to melt and manipulate it.

Pattern and Graffiti Walls: Evolution

Students us Lines, Shapes, and Color to create Patterns.

They use markers, colored pencils, and crayons to color them.

The addition of the Graffiti wall was added to the mix!

Students use inspirational words to practice their skills.

More Patterns are added to the wall as students complete their art.

More Inspirational Words are written on the Graffiti wall each day.

Students add their stenciled and stamped patterns to the wall!

Students even created a pattern by recycling food packages from their daily snack!
